Fixed-term Parliaments Bill

My honourable friend the Minister for Political and Constitutional Reform (Mark Harper) has made the following Written Ministerial Statement. The Political and Constitutional Reform Committee published its report on the Fixed-term Parliaments Bill (HC 436) on 10 September 2010, immediately prior to Second Reading. I am pleased to inform the House that the Government’s response to the committee’s report has been laid before Parliament and published (Cm 7951). Copies are available in the Vote Office and Printed Paper Office. The Government’s response to the committee will assist consideration of the details of the Bill in Committee on 16 November.
