Unemployment by Constituency, November 2013
• The number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance decreased by 41,700 between September and October 2013 to 1.31 million people aged 18 or over, the lowest level since January 2009.
• ILO unemployment was 2.47 million in July-September 2013, down 48,000 from the previous quarter and from the previous year. The unemployment rate was 7.6%.
• The number of people in employment was 29.95 million in July-September 2013, up 177,000 from the previous quarter and up 378,000 from the previous year. The employment rate was 71.8%.
