House of Lords Reform 2010–15
This Note provides a summary of the proposals for reform of the House of Lords that were made during the 2010–15 parliament. It includes information on the House of Lords Reform Bill 2012–13, which received a second reading in the House of Commons but was subsequently abandoned by the Government. It also includes information on the two private member’s bills proposing incremental reforms: the House of Lords Reform Act 2014 and the House of Lords (Expulsion and Suspension) Bill 2014–15.
