To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what estimate her Department has made of the average cost of establishing a free school in temporary accommodation before moving that school to another building; and whether costs of such temporary accommodation and moves are included by her Department in value for money assessments.
- Answer

A value for money assessment is made prior to a school being approved into pre-opening and again before a capital budget is approved. This includes an assessment of whether temporary accommodation is needed. The cost of temporary accommodation varies depending on the type of accommodation used.
