To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what steps her Department is taking to ensure that Adult First applications to the Disclosure and Barring Service are dealt with promptly.

The Disclosure and Barring Service has a target to complete 98% of Adult First Checks within 48 hours. In 2015/16, 99.3% of such checks were completed within this time frame.
