To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, if he will permit Poole Unitary Authority and Bournemouth Unitary Authority to merge voluntarily to form a new authority.

We understand that certain councils in Dorset will shortly be submitting a proposal for new unitary structures which we will of course consider very carefully.
