Taxis: Licensing

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, how many (a) Hackney Carriage and (b) private hire licences are currently issued in each local authority in England and Wales.

Answer

The Department produces statistics every 2 years on the number of taxi and private hire vehicle licences issued. The latest statistics show the position as at 31 March 2015 in England and Wales and can be found in table TAXI0104 at the following link:
