Written question asked by Lord Spellar (Labour) on Thursday, 9 March 2017, in the House of Commons. It was due for an answer on Monday, 13 March 2017. It was answered by David Lidington (Conservative) on Friday, 17 March 2017 on behalf of the Leader of the House of Commons.

Short Money

Question

To ask the Leader of the House, when he plans to publish the Short money funding allocation to Opposition political parties for the 2017-18 financial year.

Answer

Short Money and Representative Money figures will be published by the House authorities once the necessary figures on which they are based are available. These figures now include the relevant IPSA staffing budget used to calculate the floor and ceiling amounts for smaller parties.

I have asked the House authorities to ensure that the hon Member is sent details of the allocation once it is determined.
