Letting Agents: Fees and Charges
- Question
-
To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, what assessment he made of disparities in regional housing markets prior to publishing the consultation paper, Banning letting agent fees paid by tenants, published on 7 April 2017.
- Answer
-
While we recognise that the housing market is different throughout England, evidence shows that concerns associated with letting agents charging fees to tenants are prevalent across the whole country, not just particular regions. Our consultation exercise also seeks evidence to inform the future approach.
