To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what steps his Department is taking to encourage NHS Trusts to update their local guidelines as a result of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists' September 2017 update to their clinical Green-Top guidelines on Group B Streptococcus; and if he will make a statement.

Answer

All those involved in commissioning or providing maternity services are expected to be fully aware of the importance of having regard to the most current clinical standards, and that trusts’ local guidance is amended accordingly through internal governance procedures.
