Personal Independence Payment: Mental Health

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, pursuant to the Answer of 29 January 2018 to Question 124308, on Personal Independence Payment: Mental Health, what estimate she has made of the administrative costs to her Department of reviewing the 1.6 million personal independence payment claims.

Answer

As outlined in the answer I gave on 29 January 2018 to Question 124308, the Department will be carrying out an administrative exercise to ensure that claimants receive the correct Personal Independence Payment award, following the decision not to appeal the High Court’s judgment handed down in the judicial review.

The administrative cost will depend on a number of factors, including the number of cases identified.
