Prison Officers: Heatstroke

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many members of staff in each prison were recorded as suffering from sunstroke in the period 1 May 2018 to 30 July 2018.

Answer

HM Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) does not record sunstroke as a reason for sickness absence and therefore the data requested is not available.

HMPPS is committed to ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of its staff, with all staff having access to a comprehensive occupational health service and employee assistance programme.
