Migration: Forecasts

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what processes her Department has in place for forecasting irregular migration flows; and in what way her Department shares those forecasts with other departments.

Answer

The Home Office assesses migration trends and plans for different projections flows through irregular migration systems based on different plausible scenarios.

Plans, including the scenarios, are regularly shared with the Ministry of Justice and Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and, as required, with other government departments.
