Bupropion

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps his Department are taking to improve the supply of Bupropion.

Answer

The Department is aware of a shortage with bupropion with a resupply date to be confirmed. We issued management guidance to the National Health Service on this shortage on 1 December 2022 advising on the management of patients who require this medication for both licensed and off-label indications. Clinicians can advise on suitable alternative products, and other management options that can be considered, including unlicensed bupropion tablets which have been sourced.
