Design work is underway as part of Engineering Stage 4 and a planning application is forecast to be submitted in February. Engineering Stage 5 is due to begin in April 2024 with a Full Business Case expected to be submitted to the Department once that work is complete. The current anticipated cost of the project is estimated to be £23.1m. These estimates remain subject to change as the project develops. HS2 savings have been set aside to fund development and delivery of the scheme. More detail on cost and completion date will be included as part of the Full Business Case.
