Greenhouse Gas Emissions: New Businesses

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what assessment his Department has made of barriers facing climatetech startups.

Answer

The Government recognises the important role of climate technology start-ups in delivering clean energy and economic growth. DESNZ will shortly launch the Cleantech Innovation Challenges to target mission-critical innovation. We are engaging with innovators, investors and industry to co-develop these challenges and to understand barriers to innovation and commercialisation, and will provide targeted support for innovators tackling the Challenges.
