Greenhouse Gas Emissions: New Businesses

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what assessment his Department has made of barriers facing climatetech startups.

Answer: The Government recognises the important role of climate technology start-ups in delivering clean energy and economic growth. DESNZ will shortly launch the Cleantech Innovation Challenges to target mission-critical innovation. We are engaging with innovators, investors and industry to co-develop these challenges and to understand barriers to innovation and commercialisation, and will provide targeted support for innovators tackling the Challenges.
