Trams: Birmingham

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment she has made of the current status of tram route designs between Digbeth and Birmingham International Airport.

Answer

West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is responsible for developing plans for extensions to the Birmingham Metro network. The Department continues to work with WMCA to support their mass transit ambitions and looks forward to receiving further details on their plans for connecting Digbeth to Birmingham International Airport in due course.
