Trams: Birmingham
- Question
-
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, whether the Government plans to allocate funding to complete Birmingham tram routes that received partial funding in the 2025 Spending Review.
- Answer
-
Extensions to the Birmingham Metro are being delivered by West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA). Funding for local transport in the West Midlands is largely devolved, and WMCA has been allocated £2.4bn of Transport for City Regions funding up to 2031/32, with decisions on how this funding is allocated taken by the Mayor in line with local transport priorities. Decisions on funding at future Spending Reviews will be taken in the usual way.
