Wood-burning Stoves

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, with reference to the Answer of 16 March 2026 to Question 118757 on Wood-burning stoves, whether she has written to or received written correspondence from the Greater London Authority on wood burning stoves since July 2024; and with reference to her Department's document entitled Consultation on solid fuel burning - taking action to reduce fine particulate matter and smoke emissions, published on 22 January 2026, whether the Greater London Authority responded to that consultation.

Departmental records indicate that the Secretary of State has not written to, or received written correspondence from, the Greater London Authority on wood burning stoves since July 2024. Defra officials meet regularly with the Greater London Authority on air quality matters, including domestic combustion.
The Greater London Authority responded to the consultation published on 22 January 2026. Responses are being analysed and the Government response will be published in due course.
