EU Law: Northern Ireland

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what legislation changes arising from the EU legislation covered by the Explanatory Memorandum for the European Union Legislation/Documents within the Scope of the UK/EU Withdrawal Agreement and the Windsor Framework C(2026) 766 Final, published on 17 June 2026, will take direct effect in Northern Ireland without requiring the passage of new UK legislation.

Answer

EU DELEGATED REGULATION (EU) 2026/322 which amends certain Articles of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/687 and certain Annexes of that regulation is directly applicable law in Northern Ireland. Paragraph 10 of the EM sets out the impact of those changes. It came into effect on 12 May 2026.
