Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, whether any formal guidance is currently issued to civil servants about sharia courts, sharia councils, or sharia tribunals.

Answer

Sharia courts, sharia councils, or sharia tribunals do not form any part of the justice system in England and Wales.

The Ministry of Justice currently does not issue any formal guidance to civil servants about them.
