RAF Barnham

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what estimate has been made of the total capital cost of preparing and repurposing MoD Barnham for use as asylum accommodation, including costs associated with refurbishment, utilities, security infrastructure, planning applications and site remediation.
- Answer

Due diligence and assurance work for all proposed large sites including Barnham is still ongoing. This includes assessing accurate costings. Once complete, approvals will be sought in the normal way and details published as appropriate for Government Major Programmes.
No final decision has been made on whether to use MoD Barnham for asylum accommodation.
