To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, with reference to the MHCLG annual report and accounts 2025 to 2026, HC484, 15 July 2026, page 56, what was the nature of the Parliamentary Ombudsman complaint that was upheld in full, and whether compensation has been paid.

The complaint concerned a longstanding individual case involving historic legal costs and a Charging Order. The Department followed the Ombudsman’s recommendation for a financial remedy.
