Albania: Repatriation

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, with reference to the British Embassy Tirana press release entitled Call for proposals: the Albania Reintegration Partnership (ARP), published on 17 August 2026, what estimate his Department has made of the number of Albanian nationals expected to benefit from the programme.

Answer

The Albania Reintegration Partnership (ARP) is intended to support the sustainable reintegration of Albanian nationals returned from the UK by improving access to employment, skills and support services. The programme has been designed to support the UK Government's objectives on tackling irregular migration, including reducing the risk of repeat offending. The call for proposals remains open, so the final beneficiary numbers, delivery models, duration of support and unit costs have not yet been determined.

Funding will be awarded through a competitive grant process and will be subject to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office due diligence, monitoring and financial assurance requirements. Grant recipients will be required to report against agreed outcomes, with appropriate monitoring and audit provisions included in funding agreements.
