To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, whether the Government continues to use £3.4 billion as its headline estimate of the cost of the Chagos agreement.

The value of payments under the UK-Mauritius Agreement were set out by the UK government at the time of signature and have not changed. No payments are due under the terms of the UK-Mauritius Agreement until it has been ratified. Full details of the proposed payments have already been published in the Explanatory Memorandum accompanying the Treaty.
