- Question
-
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, pursuant to the answer of 9 September 2026 to Question 26080, whether the Department has requested a timetable from the Competition and Markets Authority for it to respond to CAMRA’s request.
- Answer
-
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is operationally independent from Government. It decides what investigations to take forward based on its published prioritisation principles. The Government has not requested a timetable for the CMA's consideration of CAMRA's request for a market investigation. Decisions on such requests, and the timing of any response, are matters for the CMA.
