PE and Sport Premium
- Question
-
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, when she plans to announce future funding arrangements for the Primary PE and Sport Premium.
- Answer
-
The government has confirmed an investment over £1 billion in school sport over the next three years, including more than £580 million to fund the new Partnerships Network, improve school sports facilities and support primary schools as we move to the new approach.
The network is currently being procured and set to be fully up and running from spring 2027, backed with £580 million funding. It will replace the existing PE and sport premium. However, we will provide a further one-off £100 million PE premium payment to support primary schools during the transition year.
In addition, responding to long-standing calls from schools, approximately £200 million in capital funding will go towards improving school sports facilities.
