A47: Dual Carriageways
- Question
-
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what estimate she has made of the financial liability to National Highways arising from potential planning blight and compulsory purchase claims associated with the A47 Wansford to Sutton Development Consent Order prior to its revocation.
- Answer
-
As of 31 March 2026, National Highways had incurred £1.343 million in land costs for the A47 Wansford to Sutton Scheme. Of this, £1.23 million was spent prior to its cancellation to purchase three land assets. National Highways expect to incur some additional land costs associated with the cancellation of the scheme but will seek to minimise further expenditure and recover some costs, through the disposal of land assets no longer required.
