Clean Energy: Investment

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what assessment he has made of the adequacy of levels of private sector investment in clean energy industries since July 2024.

Answer

Since July 2024, over £100 billion of private investment has been announced into UK clean energy industries, with more money coming into this country by way of foreign investment in clean energy than any other industrial strategy sector over the past 10-years.

That has only happened because of the confidence of business in the clarity of the government’s mission and our commitment to it.

The result is investment flowing directly into our communities, creating good jobs and higher living standards in every part of Britain.
