The Environment Agency estimates the number of non-residential properties in England, in areas at high risk of flooding, to be:
102,000 properties in areas at high risk of flooding from rivers and the sea
85,000 properties in areas at high risk of flooding from surface water
High risk means there is a greater than a 3.3% chance of flooding in any given year. Non-residential also includes properties such as churches, public houses, schools and offices.
