To ask Her Majesty’s Government, in the light of the recommendations of the 8th Annual Report of the National DNA Database Ethics Group, what plans they have to inform the public of both the implicit and explicit possibilities for the use of custody images prior to seeking feedback from the public on the storage by police of facial images.

The Review of the Use and Retention of Custody Images will set out how such images are used. We plan to publish the review shortly.
