Asylum: LGBT People

Question

To ask Her Majesty’s Government, concerning asylum claims relating to gender and sexual identity, when they expect the data on the asylum casework database to have been quality assured to a sufficient standard of accuracy to enable their publication.

Answer

The Home Office remains committed to publishing information on the number of people claiming asylum on the basis of sexual orientation. Any data publications must be in line with reporting standards. Work is ongoing to assure the quality of the data for publication.
