China: Middle East

Question

To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the government of China’s (1) offer of 100 million yuan in aid to the Palestinians reported on 10 July, and (2) proposal to form a strategic partnership with the Arab League to become the keeper of peace and stability in the Middle East.

Answer

Whilst we have not made any specific assessment of this issue, we are aware of the offer and will continue to monitor any developments.
