British Council: Collections
- Question
-
To ask His Majesty's Government what steps they intend to take to ensure the British Council Collection will remain the property of the British Council, and that no part of it will be sold off.
- Answer
-
On the issue of the British Council's overseas presence, I refer the Noble Lord to the answer provided on 3 June in response to Question HL318, but in general, decisions on specific assets or property owned by the British Council are for them to take as they consider appropriate. On the wider issue of the British Council's financial position, I refer the Noble Lord to my statement to the House on 26 March (HLWS1489).
