Wind Power: Lyme Bay

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what consideration he has given to the use of any part of Lyme Bay as an offshore wind farm; and if he will make a statement.

The Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, the right hon. Member for Kingston and Surbiton (Mr Davey), has given no consideration to the use of Lyme Bay as a possible location for an offshore wind farm. If such a development proposal is submitted to the Planning Inspectorate it will fall to the Department in due course to consider the Planning Inspectorate’s recommendation alongside all other representations received.
