To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what assessment she has made of the effectiveness of the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games on encouraging people to be physically active.
- Answer
-
Our ambition is to be the first host nation to increase the number of people getting active through playing sport off the back of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. 15.5 million people aged 16 and over are playing sport at least once a week, which is 1.6 million more than when we won the bid in 2005.
