Channel Three
- Question
-
To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport (1) if she will review the regulations applying to Channel 3 licence holders and the business practices of their subsidiary companies;
- Answer
-
The Government has no plans to review the licensing arrangements for Channel 3. The regulator, Ofcom, has recently renewed the Channel 3 licences for 10 years, from 1 Jan 2015. No prohibitions on ownership of commercial websites or radio stations have been introduced. Ofcom's rules around cross-promotion relate only to the promotion of other broadcasting-related services.
