Proceeding contribution from Lord Whitehead (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 3 May 2016. It occurred during Urgent question on Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust
As the Minister and other hon. Members have said, Friday’s report makes grim reading for the many families and patients in the care of Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. The Minister said that those failings are not isolated to that trust, but are on a much wider scale. In light of that, is he seriously considering a public inquiry
that will get to the heart of the underlying factors in those matters? Patients and families who use this trust—some of whom are my constituents—must be reassured that those underlying issues are being properly considered and not brushed under the carpet.
