Proceeding contribution from Baroness Hamwee (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 9 February 2016. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Immigration Bill.

Immigration Bill

Can I add a tiny bit of extra pressure on the Executive between now and Report and ask whether the Government have information about the effect on housing numbers and housing prices as a result of this policy? That might be quite difficult as a lot of it will be anecdotal, but it is a jolly big anecdote along the south bank of the Thames, of units that are sold off plan and will probably remain empty. There is a great deal of concern about the impact of the role played by those taking advantage of this route on the housing shortage and on housing prices.
