House of Lords (Hereditary Peers) Bill
Does the noble Lord agree that this House prides itself on being a Chamber that gives excellent views and expertise? In general, people of expertise tend not to stand for election. They tend to be chosen, for whatever reason. Is that not rather
relevant to how this Chamber is supposed to work? Maybe we ought to have more experts in the House of Lords and fewer politicians.
