To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what steps he is taking to ensure that the new Fuel Poverty Target addresses the specific needs of people affected by muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular conditions.
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what steps he is taking to ensure that the new Fuel Poverty Target addresses the specific needs of people affected by muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular conditions.
The new fuel poverty target will focus on improving the energy efficiency of all fuel poor households, including those with long-term health conditions. We will be announcing our proposals on the specific form, date and level of the target in the spring.
Our fuel poverty measurement approach, which will underpin this new target, is based on modelling household energy requirements. Our model reflects the fact that some households have higher energy requirements than others, for example where health conditions mean that people spend more time at home.
