The information requested is contained in the following table.
| Department | Recorded expenditure on newspapers, periodicals and trade profession magazines 2010-11 (£) |
| Crown Prosecution Service | 131,809 |
| Serious Fraud Office | 42,563 |
| Treasury Solicitor's Department¹ | ²6,435 |
| ¹ The TSol data also cover the Attorney-General's Office and HM Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate. | |
| ² Expenditure on periodicals and trade magazines is not recorded separately from that on law reports (which would not be classed as magazines). It is not possible to separately identify subscriptions to periodicals and trade profession magazines without incurring a disproportionate cost. |

The only Law Officers' Departments which use press cuttings services are the Attorney-General's Office (formerly Legal Secretariat to the Law Officers), the CPS and the SFO and this answer is provided on their behalf.
