Vernon Coaker: To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what assessment she has made of the time it takes for industrial
tribunals to hear individual cases; and if she will make a statement. [82107]
Alan Johnson: In the financial year 2001-02, the Employment Tribunals heard 69 per cent. of individual cases within 26 weeks of
receipt. In the current financial year, as at the end of October 2002, Employment Tribunals have heard 72 per cent. of individual
cases within 26 weeks of receipt.
This achievement is in the context of a 60 per cent. increase in applications over the three years to March 2001. At March 2002, the
level of applications remained high in comparison to previous years.

Mr. Coaker: To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what plans he has to publicise the range of services available at
the Post Office. [144537]
Mr. Alan Johnson: Publicity and advertising of the range of services available are operational matters for the Post Office. I
understand that, in addition to in-store advertising of Post Office products and services often supported by local press and radio
campaigns and promotional incentives, a new website carrying a comprehensive guide to all products and services available from the
Post Office is to be launched later this month. This website will be advertised as part of the credits for the television travel
programme "Wish You Were Here", which the Post Office is sponsoring for six months with the particular objective of advertising and
promoting the travel insurance, foreign currency and travellers cheques services available either on demand or by order through all
post offices.

Mr. Coaker: To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what improvements he plans for statutory entitlement to paternity

Mr. Alan Johnson: My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry made an announcement on 9 May setting out the
details of a review on maternity pay and parental leave. The review will look at ways of providing further support and choice for
working parents with young children. We will consider how best to build on statutory parental leave entitlement in the context of
the review.
