[135818] Mr. Morley: Our CITES records show that the number of wild caught parrots imported into the UK in each of the last five years were as follows. _________________________________________________________________________________________________. Number 1998 4,844 1999 3,789 2000 2,261 2001 4,479 2002 10,158 Total 25,531 _________________________________________________________________________________________________. The numbers of other wild-caught birds imported into the UK were: _________________________________________________________________________________________________. Number 1998 114 1999 155 2000 177 2001 169 2002 625 Total 1,240 _________________________________________________________________________________________________. The Department does not keep records of imports into other EU countries.
