That this House notes with concern plans to cull wolves which have colonised the French Alps in recent years; welcomes the actions taken by the French Government to provide subsidies for the employment of extra shepherds, guard dogs and fencing in order to protect farmers from losing livestock and the fact that the numbers of sheep being killed by wolves has fallen since 2002; and calls on the French Government to oppose any culling of alpine wolves which only emigrated from Italy within the last 12 years.

That this House congratulates Warrington Wolves Rugby League Football Club for winning the Best Sport in the Community Programme at the annual Sport Industry Awards ceremony; further congratulates the club and its staff for their dedication and commitment in forging strong links through community programmes, providing coaching in schools, IT facilities and increasing interest and participation amongst community groups; notes that this work has also been rewarded by the Rugby football League with Warrington winning the Best Community Award for each of the last four years; and encourages other sporting clubs to follow Warrington Wolves RLFC in developing close relationships throughout their respective communities in order to place sport at the centre of social and economic activity which will benefit individuals, communities and sporting clubs alike.
