We estimate that a total of £489 million will be paid to farmers under the Rural Development Programme for England in 2012-13. This consists of £118 million of DEFRA funding, matched with £371 million of EU funding. This estimate is based on the proportion of beneficiaries that are farmers and applying that to the current forecast of spend for 2012-13.
