National Development Management Policies will set out clear principles for deciding planning applications in England and help to streamline local plans. The Government intends to consult fully on both the scope and content of National Development Management policies in due course.

We acknowledge the importance of faith literacy in the civil service and our public services, both to help us to fully understand and celebrate the role of faith in our society, but also to empower government to tackle harmful practices where they occur.
Improving faith literacy is one of the 22 recommendations put forward by Colin Bloom in his independent review of faith engagement. As with all recommendations of the review, the Government will consider this carefully and respond in due course.

We are grateful to Colin Bloom for setting out his independent recommendations on how government can improve engagement with faith, both in terms of recognising the contribution of faith communities and addressing harmful practices where they occur.
As part of our work to consider the response to the recommendations in the Bloom Review, we have engaged with a broad range of faith and belief stakeholders to understand the nuances of the recommendations and their impact on faith and belief communities, and to help us understand how some of the recommendations might work in practice.
Government will carefully consider all recommendations of the review and will respond in due course. This will include considering the review’s recommendations in relation to faith-based exploitation and abuse, and the importance of faith literacy more broadly.

The annual Rough Sleeping Snapshot includes the number of women estimated to be sleeping rough in England on a single night in autumn between 2019 and 2023.
The annual autumn snapshot statistics remain our official and most robust measure of rough sleeping on a single night given they are independently verified and are published in line with the Code of Practice for Statistics.
We recognise that women sleeping rough may experience rough sleeping differently and may be less likely to be seen during the annual snapshot count. DLUHC is supporting the Women’s Rough Sleeping Census – developed by Solace Women’s Aid, SHP and London Councils - which aims to collect more comprehensive data on women experiencing rough sleeping and trial different methods of data collection.

This Government strongly encourages the re-use of suitable brownfield land as set out in our National Planning Policy Framework. Making the most effective use of brownfield land, including through mixed use developments, will support the provision of the homes we need, and is key to regenerating our high streets and town centres, supporting economic growth in the hearts of our towns and cities and maximising the use of existing infrastructure.

Some members of the Welsh Parliament provided contributions to this Call for Evidence and their submissions were reviewed as part of our analysis of the Call for Evidence responses.
