The central Department and six of its seven Agencies spent £71,053 in 2011-12 on newspapers, periodicals and trade profession magazines. This compares to an equivalent spend of £267,642 in the 2009-10 financial year. The Driving Standards Agency could only provide the figure at disproportionate cost.
