That this House condemns in the strongest terms the usurious trading practices of Europa Car Parks in their car park in Chorlton, Manchester, where constituents of the right hon. Member for Manchester, Gorton, unable to see notices which were completely obscured by foliage, unawares incurred an over-the-time-limit parking charge, and then, still unaware of the practices of these greedy people, were told they had to pay a fine of ??50; further condemns the Chief Executive of Europa Car Parks for failing to reply to three letters to him from the right hon. Member over a seven-week period; and calls on the Secretary of State for Transport to investigate this company and check the legality or otherwise of their behaviour.

That this House is concerned that 92 per cent. of hospitals in England, 53 per cent. of hospitals in Wales, 20 per cent. of hospitals in Northern Ireland and 6 per cent. of hospitals in Scotland charge for parking; notes that six out of 10 hospitals in the UK do not provide concessions for cancer patients; further notes that, on average, cancer patients travel 53 times for treatment, spending an average of ??325 on travel and parking charges; is aware that since December 2006, anyone with a cancer diagnosis is covered by the Disability Discrimination Act 2005, which imposes a Disability Equality Duty on all public bodies; joins with Macmillan Cancer Support in calling for all hospitals in the UK to carry out a Disability Impact Assessment to ensure they comply with the new Disability Equality Duty; and urges hospitals to consider giving cancer patients, and other disabled patients who regularly travel to hospital for treatment, a voucher to exempt them from car parking charges.

That this House joins the people of Essex and the Woodland Trust in celebrating the centenary of the beautiful Hainault Forest Country Park, designated as a public open space on 21st July 1906, protecting the forest's future by the inspirational Edward North Buxton, who led a campaign with local people to ensure that the country park could be enjoyed by future generations; recognises the encouraging work led by the Woodland Trust in expanding the boundaries of Hainault Forest Country Park by 55 hectares to create what is to be known as Havering Forest, opened by the Rt. hon. Lord Carrington on Saturday 15th July; notes the important contribution this forest will have on improving the social and environmental quality of life for people residing within the London Boroughs of Havering and Redbridge; further notes the exceptional efforts and plans by The Woodland Trust to involve the local community and school children in the area, in planting schemes over the 55 hectares; and looks forward to celebrating and benefiting from another 100 years of ancient woodland, rolling hills, sparkling waters and native wildlife in the east of London and Essex.
