That this House congratulates Spirit Aid's Children of the Rubble efforts to get medical aid to mountain villages in Afghanistan, but joins with their horror at the conditions that people are living in, with people dying of tuberculosis, diphtheria, malaria, whooping cough and gastroenteritis; notes that only five per cent. of the rural population have access to clean drinking water, hospitals have no medicines and doctors have not been paid in over a year; and, with millions of people still in refugee camps, calls upon the Government actively to make sure that the aid promised gets through to the people of Afghanistan and to make sure the people of Iraq will not also be left with children dying in the rubble after the bombing has stopped.
